Opening Day is just around the corner for Scoutz USA 17U Club. The club opens with a very tough slate in the Palm Beach Classic in West Palm Beach, Fl. June 9-14th.
Game One 10:30 AM at The Ball Park at Palm Beach Nationals #4 vs Exposure Baseball out of Tennessee. Sophomore Daniel Espino will make his debut as opening day starter. The youngster features an 87-90 MPH fastball with very good slider.
Game Two 10:30 AM June 10th at The Ball Park at Palm Beach Nationals #4 vs. Florida Burn Platinum. The Florida Burn are one of the top programs out of the State of Florida and a National title contender. Islands HS RHP Kole Newman will take the mound in that game. Newman 6-3 190 RHP will feature an 89-91 fastball with a hammer breaking ball.
Game Three 8AM June 11th at Roger Dean Cardinals #5 vs. 5 Star Boz
This team features a ton of talent out of the Jacksonville, FL area and will be a handful to deal with during the event. 2018 Frederica Academy LHP Trey Thompson will take the mound. Thompson has pinpoint command at 80-82 MPH with a devastating change up.
The second game of the Day on the 11th will be at 3:30 Roger Dean Cardinals #5 with Stephens County RHP Chaz Bridges taking the mound. Bridges 2018 grad brings a 6-3 185 frame with 85-87 MPH fastball and command of 3 pitches.
Game 5 Monday June 12th 8AM at Roger Dean Marlins #4
FTB Tucci is always a National power. We lost a 1-0 heartbreaker to them in 2015. West Florence LHP 2018 Hunter Harvin will toe the rubber for the Scoutz. Harvin 6-3 185 throws mid 80s with very good cut fastball.
Offensively the Scoutz bring in 3 of the top homerun hitters in the State of Georgia in Ford Townsend Wayne County (Mercer University) Fred West Monroe Albany (East Ga JC) and David Hollie Cross Creek High school.
The Scoutz lineup will be deep and dangerous this year. All-State Performers Bill Knight Burke County High, Ford Townsend Wayne County, David Hollie Cross Creek, JT Crosby Wayne County, Kole Newman Islands High, Hunter Foster Jeff Davis High and Brooks Bryan Camden County. Region 1AAA Player of the Year Fred West will play RF.
Joe Smith Brunswick High 6-1 165 R/R: Smith is a plus runner 6.6 sixty guy with a plus arm and good power. Smith homered in one of his two at bats during the GA Top100 tryouts. Al Region Selection
David Hollie Cross Creek 6-3 210 R/R: Named a member of JR Team Georgia, Hollie hit 10 homers and 465. during the high school season and brings a 88-90 fastball on the mound. All State selection 10 HR this year
Hunter Foster Jeff Davis 6-2 180 R/R: Foster a 6.6 runner 1st Team All State Selection and State Champion. Foster also selected on JR Team Georgia will play all three outfield positions. All State Selection
Fred West Monroe Albany 6-2 200 R/R East Ga CC: West is full of pro tools and posses speed, power and arm strength. Region 1-AAA Player of the year. All-State Selection
Justin Mosley 5-11 175 R/R Kirkwood HS St Louis Missouri Mosley has pro tools 6.6 runner with good arm sneaky power. Mosley is very quick on the diamond.
Trevohn Henry 6ft 180 R/R Hardaway Columbus, Henry is a hitter and carries a big stick against all comers. All Region performer will play corner OF and DH.
Daniel Cerda SS 6ft 1in 150 R/R Academy of Hope, D.R. Cerda a Dominican Republic smooth SS brings the best tools at SS in the State of Georgia. This guy is a magician on the diamond and is fun to watch. A defensive guru with a lightning quick bat. Cerda will lead off for the Scoutz
Bill Knight SS/3B 6ft 1in 190 R/R Burke County: Knight an All State selection is as good a hitter as you'll find in Georgia. Good power and contact guy with a cannon up his sleeve at SS or 3B. Big arm off the mound.
JT Crosby 3B 5ft 10 175 R/R Wayne County: All State Selection, State Runner-Up Crosby plays a great defensive 3B and gives some offensive punch in the lineup. Athletic player will also come out of the pen.
Cheney Knight 3b 5ft 10 175 L/R Jenkins County: All Region performer for the Eagles of Jenkins County. Knight one of the only lefty bats on the team is a gap to gap guy with good arm strength at 3B will also pitch out of pen.
Rick Mitchell 2B/SS 5ft 8 in 165 R/R Richmond Hill, 1st Team All Region Mitchell led the Wildcats to the Elite 8. Very aggressive quick twitch guy with good arm and actions.
Cameron Moore 2B/RHP 5ft 10 in 175 R/R Brantley County, 1st Team All Region Moore anchored the Herons on defense and also made a sweet 16 appearance. Moore will play 2B and come in relief on the mound.
Ford Townsend 1B/RHP 6ft 2in 225 R/R Wayne County: 1st Team All State, State Runner -up. Townsend is one of the most dangerous hitters in Georgia. 9 HR one of the best power bats in the USA. Townsend also brings a 90 MPH fastball and will be the closer
Chaz Bridges 1B/RHP 6ft 3in 175 Stephens County All- Region, Elite 8 team. Bridges led the Indians in pitching. He will be a starting pitcher with the group and play 1B. Good athlete plays basketball mid 80s fastball with great secondary stuff.
Bailey Vickers 1B/C 6ft 2in 215 R/R Vickers and All Region performer at Washington County. Vickers has a big powerful bat and will DH play 1b and catch.
Brooks Bryan C 6ft 1in 190 R/R Camden County Bryan is All Region performer. Led Camden County to Elite 8 performance. Bryan is one of the most athletic catchers in Georgia ran 6.7, has a cannon and good power at the plate.
Parker Sewell C 5ft 9in 170 R/R Greenbrier All Region led the wolfpack to the Elite 8 round. Sewell a very good defender with offensive punch with catch and DH for Scoutz USA.
Lucas Dixon RHP 5ft 9in 175 Greenbrier. Side Arm look very deceptive strike thrower.
Hunter Harvin LHP 6ft 3in 185 West Florence, SC
Harvin a mid 80's lefty with very good cutter
Daniel Espino 6ft 2in 185 Academy of Hope Panama
Espino is a talented RHP with 88-91 fastball and electric slider
Jackson Hodnick RHP 6-5 200 RHP Greenbrier
Diamond in the rough Hodnick comes downhill at you with mid 80s stuff that has good angle.
Kole Newmand RHP 6-3 190 Islands: All State performer led Islands to State Playoffs. Very talented draft type guy up to 91 MPH with professional breaking ball.
Trey Thompson LHP 5-10 170 Frederica: Touch and feel lefty with great stuff and command of 3 pitches.
