It was the fall of 2005 and a young skinny 5-11 165lb lefty outfielder stood in the box and hit his first homer vs. Brandon Cumpton another young soph RHP from Greenbrier High School. Turns out that lefty batter was LA Dodgers outfielder Josh Reddick. Both he and Cumpton made their way to the big leagues and the 3B Coach that day has joined them Tim Hyers is now hitting coach for the LA Dodgers. Reddick went on to sign with Middle Georgia JC before becoming famous while Cumpton tallied four great years at Georgia Tech. Hyers joined the Boston Red Sox as an area scout soon after and guess who drafted Reddick out of Middle GA? The Boston Red Sox. The two are reunited in LA and are representing the National League in the NLCS both looking for a trip to the World Series. It's a small world and we are grateful to have been a small part of it for all involved.
