Player Development and Real Exposure

Kal Simmons All American Kennesaw State University

The Baseball Scoutz program provides a system that has been very effective since 1999. We have been nimble enough to change with the times while keeping our core strategy in place. Here's how we have made it work for 6 MLB,101Draft picks and hundreds of NCAA, NJCAA and NAIA prospects over the years.

We offer a combination of prospect events (All Star Games), USA Teams, recruiting packages and player rating system.

We also provide Podcast, Video Programming and interviews covering High School and College baseball in Georgia.

9th Grade: We start identifying top prospects. These are kids with good athletic skills that need to develop baseball skills. We do this by pairing these players with our training staff for individual skill development. We supplement the training by putting the kids on a team for four high level events as a testing site to see how the skills have developed. We then hold several team type camps in the fall at various universities to further develop baseball team skills. In the winter we offer a throwing program and one on one hitting instruction at one of our facilities. We feel this positions our prospects for their recruiting endeavors down the road.

10th Grade: We start integrating some exposure along with continuing  our training regimen. We play a full summer schedule the summer of 10th grade. We will play a very competitive schedule with many college coaches invited in to see our prospects. We do still emphasize our player development system and work one on one lessons and team camps in fall. Our summer schedule is a full slate 6 weeks.

11th Grade: We are in full recruiting mode. We play a very high level schedule. We start marketing specific skill sets to 150 or so colleges or pro scouts. We provide scouting reports during the high school season to colleges and we constantly stay in contact with schools that need specific players. Fall of senior year we play a schedule vs. Junior College teams and play a few major events.

We host the Georgia All Star games each August. All of our players are invited. 40 Colleges will attend this event.

We have also integrated video clips of all of our players on our team pages. This is something no other teams seem to provide but we find it a very useful tool to assist our players with recruiting needs. 85% to 90% of our players find a college home during their time with our program.

Our showcases are professionally run and always have scouts in attendance.  We pride ourselves in running top notch events. Our showcases feature player jerseys with names on the back as well as numbers for easy identification. We use our 5 Star rating system so it is easy for scouts to see all of the prospects tools. We grade armstrength, bat exit speed, 60 times, fielding, hitting and power. We play simulated games so that everyone gets a fair look. Our Unsigned Senior Games are our signature product and we have had a super success ratio for those guys attending.
